Looking For a Job? Here’s How Recruiters Will Find You in 2018!

This year will see some significant changes in the way employers recruit talent. Technology will continue to resolve major hiring challenges and increase efficiency, and yet, recruiters will struggle to maintain a human element in their processes. Recruiters must maintain technology as facilitator and avoid using it to replace people and essential person-to-person connections. Today, we look at the following ways technology will change you recruiters find you, the job seeker, in 2018.

Greater emphasis on Talent Relationship Management (TRM)

While Candidate Relationship Management (CRM) software help recruiters to develop and sustain relationships with applicants, this level of engagement by itself is no longer enough. Increasingly used by savvy recruiters, Talent Relationship Management (TRM) goes beyond just applicants to include contractors, contingent employees and current staff members in a holistic strategy to pinpointing, engaging and building pools of talent.

This year, TRM will go even more mainstream, with large companies investing more in people and tools to support this new approach. Many expect TRM to be more than just a fad as research shows the use of TRM tools leads to a greater applicant conversion rate.

More automation

The idea of artificial intelligence or machine learning has been around for some time now, and the technology is finally starting to get adopted outside of academic circles. HR teams looking for a competitive advantage have to understand both the benefit of incorporating new AI tools into their operations and how automation will impact their workforces.

Gig economy rising

Recent studies show self-employment and contract work is a desirable career route for more than half of the US workforce. For employers, this means they should consider offering the flexibility associated with self-employment and contract work. Companies should also consider offering the option to work remotely.

The way companies use labor will continue to change and this means HR will have to play a larger role in administrating and sourcing their personnel resources.

Closing the tech gap

For most of today’s workers, there is a massive technology gap between the technology they use at home and the technology they use at work. With the economy currently surging, there’s never been a better time for employers to close that gap.

HR personnel realize all interactions during the hiring process reflect on the company brand. The application process used by job seekers can indicate a company’s core mission, culture and priorities. An organization that wants to be seen as tech savvy or service-oriented will ensure that applicants aren’t using an archaic application system.

HR tech startups

The HR Tech conference in Las Vegas this October was one of the biggest ever, with a multitude of new recruitment and HR solutions, which included elements of AI, gamification and the latest scientific research.

Forward-thinking HR departments will try out these technologies on one-off initiatives to see what fits their needs.
